This 40th Anniversary car (40 years of the legendary Ford Mustang which first entered the market in 1964) is quite simply one of the finest rare, documented, autographed and very desirable of all American modern day muscle cars!
Ford and several other third party companies offered many modified versions of the highly popular Mustang over the years whilst catering to a specific portion of the marketplace looking for something outside of the mainstream. High performance enthusiasts clammered for more powerful, better handling sports cars and purists seeked limited production and alternate or nostalgic styling and it wasn't long before marques such as the McLaren with the M81 and SVO; Carroll Shelby with the GT-H, GT500KR, CS6/8, GT500E; Steve Saleen with the S281, S351, S302 & S281 SC and Jack Roush with the Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 High Performance cars entered the market place.
Amongst many sports car and Mustang enthusiasts the Jack Roush Performance Engineering cars hold a special meaning, even amongst its legendary rivals! Jack Roush was a former Ford engineer and drag racer and he was known for both the legendary quality of his builds and for cutting out any unnecessary items in order to make his high performance cars go faster. His company has known success in many racing fields including the Trans-Am series, NASCAR with his team counting 283 wins and 212 poles and with 2 victories as a car owner at the Daytona 500! On the NASCAR circuit he is legendary and rarely seen without his trademark 'Panama' hat and is renown for having survived two plane crashes already in his life! He is also a pioneer in the fuel industry where his alternative fuel products such as propane autogas have proved revolutionary.
For decades he has been known on the race track circuit for building spectacular cars in his facility in Michigan and the Stage 3 Premium edition 40th Anniversary Mustang built in 2004 was as good as it gets. The company produced three packages for the Mustang, a Stage 1 with 17"" wheels, a lowered suspension and a side mounted exhaust system mounted on a sleek steroid looking body with an air dam, side skirts and a rear spoiler. The Stage 2 was an upgraded Stage 1 with 18"" alloy wheels and an extensively modified suspension with 'Bilstein' shocks, high rate springs, stiffer anti-roll bars and new control arms. Roush claimed it achieved 1.0g lateral acceleration on par with the Porsche 911 Turbo no less. For the top-of-the-line Stage 3, Roush outdid even himself by raising the bar even higher! The Ford 4.6L V8 was upgraded with an 'Eaton' supercharger, a new intake manifold, high performance fuel injectors, an air-to-water intercooler and a lighter flywheel on the manual transmission cars. It was available in three packages, the 'Sport', 'Rally' and the ultimate 'Premium' package and had approximately 379HP and 380 ft-lbs of torque!
The Roush 'Stage 3 Premium' package Serial # 9062 added a further $30,666 to the original $28,855 MSRP price of an already fully loaded Mustang for a retail price of almost $60K in 2004! The Roush Stage 3 Premium Package included:

The car is 1 of only 4 Black Stage 3 Premium Convertibles built and 1 of only 7 'Stage 3 Premium' Convertibles ever made.
It has had one Arizona family owner since new and was purchased with all service performed at 'Bell Ford' of Phoenix, Arizona with all of its documented service history and mileage. It is autographed by Jack Roush on both the original window sticker and of course the car and will be sold with all its original owners manuals and service history.
Finished in its striking and rare (1 of only 4) original factory 'Black Clearcoat' color exterior paint examples with a beautiful 'Dark Charcoal' Leather Sports Seats interior and a matching Black color power soft top and as stated the car will be sold with all its original documented service history! The car was sold to its original and only Arizona owner at 'Bell Ford' of Phoeniz, AZ and the car has no signs of any accidents and has a clean CARFAX report! The car has a beautiful matching black power soft top with no real signs of wear and an absolutely stunning sports seat leather interior with stylishly embroidered 'Jack Roush' signatures! The car drives as good as new with only 66K careful and Ford dealer maintained miles and has obviously always been garaged and well maintained.
