This particular example is a car which was obviously always garaged with no accidents with its original factory 'Black' color paint and matching leather interior. This was the top-of-the-line R129SL Mercedes-Benz flagship car and had a suggested retail price of almost $100K in 1998, which when adjusted for inflation mounts to some $195K today. The R129 was a champion in the luxury car market and dominated worldwide sales during its production run. In 1998, R129 received the major cosmetic and technical updates with revised engines to include the V6, V8, and V12 engines from the newW220 S Class. All of those updated engines had three valves and two spark plugs per cylinder.
Without a doubt, this is one of the finest classic luxury cars built by Mercedes-Benz, this is one very fine example in this most striking and desirable of color combinations available anywhere!
