This particular example was purchased on 6/28/1993 at 'Champion Porsche' of Pompano Beach, FL and is a superb and extremely striking example in this classic color combination and has obviously always been garaged and has no history of any accidents or damage and has a clean CARFAX report confirming both it's service history and low mileage. The car was serviced and maintained for many years when at the owner's California home at 'Hoehn Porsche' of Carlsbad, CA; then later at 'Porsche of Plano', Plano, TX & 'Porsche of Dallas', Dallas, TX & most recently in California again at the renown Porsche independent specialists 'Precision Motorwerks' in Orange, CA by expert Porsche mechanic Greg Brown.
The original factory 'Black' color paint is in absolutely exceptional condition as is the all original upgraded factory gathered Tan 'Supple' leather interior with a rare perfect dash and beautiful original factory carpets and 'Coco' mats. The car drives exactly like a well maintained and serviced Porsche should and must be driven to be fully appreciated and seen to be believed! The engine is extremely strong with no oil leaks, the transmission is very smooth and precise in shifting and the temperature always remains cool. All the options are working as they should including the ice cold air conditioning and power sunroof and windows. The car will also be sold with all of it's original dealer books and manuals. Importantly the timing belt & water pump were changed at 44,784 miles and the car boasts a thick file of service records showing its impressive long preventive maintenance history including over $32K in recent receipts alone.
The erstwhile 911 replacement was conceived in the early 70's with no resemblance to any of the marque's previous models. As different from the 911 as it could be with a front mounted water cooled fuel injected V8 connecting to a rear trans-axle and Weissach independent suspension featuring self correcting toe control. An all aluminum V8 with all disc brakes, a novel tilt steering wheel and instrument pod and comprehensively loaded with all the obvious refinements of a luxury GT. A bored 5.0L V8 with twin cam heads and 32 valves replaced the previous 4.7L in 1985 along with anti-lock brakes in '86. The handsome restyled S4 (4th series) arrived in '87 with a reshaped nose, smaller tail and less aero drag and still more power. The GTS was introduced in 1993 and proved to be the final variation of the 928. The V8 was enlarged to 5.4L and put out 345HP. This would prove to be the final incarnation.
These cars were all deceptively fast and well built with smooth and refined V8's and were true German supercars that are only today beginning to be recognized outside the Porsche enthusiasts circles as the undervalued supercars which they most certainly are. They have terrific high speed handling abilities with all the obvious solid German craftsmanship. The last evolutionary stage of the 928 model was the rare and increasingly collectible GTS Coupe built between 1992-95 with only 2,904 built in total production and which featured flared rear wings, a red light panel at the rear, a rear wing 'spoiler' painted in exterior color, exterior mirrors in the Cup design, plus 17" Cup rims as standard. The 5.4-litre engine of the GTS generated 350 hp. This is the penultimate year for the 928 and the most desired and collectible model. As usual the brand finally gets it right and then retires it ....
You will look long and hard to find a finer and extremely rare all 'Black' example of this exceptionally clean and increasingly collectible and desirable 1994 Porsche 928 GTS 5.4L V8 Coupe with only 56K original miles available anywhere else!
