The Mazda RX-7 sports car was built between the years 1978-2002 and featured a unique twin-rotary engine with rear wheel drive and which was initially offered as either a two seat coupe or a 2+2 coupe and the an open top two-seater convertible roadster The car has made Car & Driver Magazine's '10 Best List' a remarkable 5 times! It has become synonymous with pop culture in numerous films including the 'Fast & the Furious' and 'Gran Turismo'. The FD RX-7 was 'Motor Trend's 'Import Car of the Year' in 1993 as well as 'Playboy' magazine's 'Car of the Year' in the same year! 'Road & Track' proclaimed the car as 'The ace in Mazda's sleeve is the RX-7, a car once touted as the purest, most exhilarating sports car in the world!' Handling in the FD was regarded as world-class, and it is still regarded as being one of the finest handling and the best balanced cars of all time.
One of the most appealing Japanese cars ever produced, unfortunately the early models have largely disappeared from the roads almost entirely due to the renown insurmountable rust issues of all the Japanese cars of this era making this original owner example with only 55K original miles all the more rare and unusual in its completely rust free and all original stock condition!
This car was purchased new by its original and only family owners at 'Eddie Cress Mazda' of Mission Hills, CA on 5/7/1988 and the car was always serviced at the same dealership for many years, until the car was brought by the family to Arizona in 2007 where it was then serviced at 'Thunderbird Automotive'of Surprise, AZ before returning to southern California in 2015. The car will be sold with its original owners manuals and service history and the car was recently serviced at 55,548 miles at 'Rick's Japanese Car Care' of Thousand Oaks, CA.
