The car is an absolutely exceptional and great daily driving and completely rust free and stock example of this mostly all original 1950 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe De Ville 2 door Hardtop in it's very striking original 'Black' (Code 1) factory color paint and with an all new 'Light Gray Leather' interior with original door panels and headliner and with factory specifications and options including power steering, power brakes, power windows, heater and defroster, 6 way power seats, fog lamps, original radio, back-up lights and it's original 331 V8 engine!
This Cadillac, vin # 506246072, was part of a 100 plus car collection from the Charles M. Cawley estate.
Mr. Cawley was the founder and CEO of MBNA banking corporation and the person who started Mastercard.
Mr. Cawley passed away in 2012 and his estate began selling off the collection after his passing, eventually placing this car for sale at the 2015 Mecum Indianapolis auction, Lot T255.
It was sold and went to a classic car dealership in Scottsdale, AZ, with an odometer reading of 16,383 original miles.
In July, 2017, this car was purchased by the current owner, with the ODO still at 16,383 miles. The current ODO is approximately just under 21,000. This car is In mostly original condition save for a complete new interior in 2012, including all leather, carpet and headliner to original Cadillac specifications .
